Dilli gate

The Delhi Gate is one of the main entrances to Chanderi's inner town and today it leads onto the Sadar Bazaar, Chanderi's mainshopping thoroughfare. This large gateway is situated on the North side of town by the Chanderi Lalitpur road. It faces North toward Delhi which gives it its name.On both sides of the

gateway are carvings of soldiers on elephants. An inscription on the gate in Farsi and Nask script states that this construction began during the rule of Sultan Nushrat Shah under the guidance of Dilawar Khan and the supervision of Usmaan Bin Zakaria. It was completed during the rule of Sultan Haushang Shah of Malwa in the year 1411 (A.D.).This important gate is situated in the north of the main city boundary. The Front of this gate in north side and in north Dehli direction is shown ,so this is the reason his name is Dehli gate .in both side of the gate wall Elephant and army are sited . And one animal that is big as compare to Elephant is put the hand on the Elephant head .If you want to know about this door there is a one beautiful Farsi Inscription is here.This gate was built in the government of the king Nusrat shah in the governors of Chanderi Usmaan bin Jakriya start this work and completed in government of king Hosangshah in 1411 A.D.When we are enter this gate Sadar Market is start and this go to near Mugliya Gate after end .
